Legs are one of the most attractive assets of a woman, and the more toned they are, the more sexy they look. Indian women are usually bottom-heavy; blame it on heredity or our food habits. Make sure you keep your pins in shape with these ten effective toning exercises.
1. Heavier thighs: Indian women usually are bottom heavy so make sure you include squats in your exercise routine and swap the elevators for stairs at work.
2. Weak knees: Knees are the most important and problematic part of your legs, Avoid the need for a knee surgery, in the future, by doing a simple step-up exercise on a regular basis. Stand in front of a 2 feet high step or stool and step on in with one foot. Straighten your knees fully, and then step down. Maintain a steady pace. This is simple yet very effective of strengthening and stretching the knees.
3. Minimise cellulite: We all hate that orange peel-like effect on our skin. Cellulite is usually found on the thighs and buttocks. It is caused mainly due to damaged and torn connective tissues. To minimise the appearance of cellulite, massage the area in circular motions. This will break down the fatty deposits. For immediate effect you can ask your skin doctor to recommend a retinoid cream which temporarily helps in thickening the outer layer of the cellulite skin.
4. Do some footwork: Keep your foot bones in top shape with simple exercises like the toe grip. Drop a sock on the floor, use your toes to grip and lift the sock up. Hold it for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat this exercise five times for each foot. This will help strength your foot muscles, increase blood flow and improve balance.
5. Tone your calves: Calves give shape to the legs and excessive fats on the calves are just plain unattractive. Try a simple exercise to tone your calves. Stand tall with your hands on your hips and legs together. Your heels should be off the floor and your entire weight on your toes. Then slowly bend your knees and move them in a circular motion.
6. Ankles are important too: Anklebones are delicate and can easily get damaged. Put one foot between a stretching belt and move it up and down. This helps tighten the ankle muscles.
