The Light House Cafe is Where You Should Go to Try Out Some Tea-Infused Cocktails

Worli, one of the most plush neighbourhoods of Mumbai, which is surrounded by commercial complexes now has a new hip all-day bar and café – Light House Café. This is the second outlet in the city, the first one was opened in Khar. And it’s quite popular among those living in the suburbs.

The interiors of this café have an earthy feel to it. Wooden seats and high tables that resemble a cozy bar the place was so comfy. The inner section of the cafe is well air-conditioned. The other section has a very casual feel – with benches, sofas and community tables to just let in the natural sunlight. And I am sure when the moon shows up, it’ll get cool and romantic.

We sat inside and had a wonderful lazy meal.

Nasi Goreng

Their menu doesn’t have too many options as they are still trying out what works for the customer. But we must say that despite a small menu, the options for breakfast, lunch, high-tea and dinner, were quite interesting. Yes, there are different menus for all four meals with dishes that draw influence from various cuisines like Indian, Mexican, Japanese and South American.

I was totally thrilled by their extensive offerings for breakfast (they open at 7 a.m.) like the egg plates, crepes, pancakes and French toasts along with breakfast platters too.

But since we were there for dinner we started off with their signature global fusion dish Maki Sushi platter. The cafe doesn’t serve exclusive Japanese cuisine but this one was quite appetizing.

For sides we ordered Mexican Potatoes, Mushroom Crostini which were totally delicious. We could have easily gone for round two…only if our tummies allowed.

Chicago style meatball pizza

On the chef’s insistence, we also tried the Chicago Style Meatball Pizza that’s famous for its cheese-burst flavours but didn’t quite enjoy it as much.

The drinks at this café are a must-try. They even have wonderful tea-infused cocktails and shots, which we are sure will have a major fan following. But I gave it a miss!

Another element about the cafe that I thought was pretty cool and totally deserves a mention is how they serve dishes for high-tea. They are all a combination of special set combo meals served in their signature three-tiered platters! How cool is that!

We concluded our experience with a little bit of indulgence and tried two decadent desserts – The Cappuccino Cheese Cake and the Kahlua Mud Cake which totally won us over, but we’ve surely had better ones.

But the good news is that it’s a great place to hang out and surely makes it to our list of cool places in town.
