Smoke House Deli has walls with whimsical art
The swanky business district of Mumbai is big on housing some of the most famous chains of restaurants. The new one to be added on that list is Smoke House Deli. Situated next to Masala Library and behind Ping Pong, Smoke House Deli does everything, but disappoint.
On entering, you will realise that the restaurant isn’t very spacious but can house enough guests. The decor has their standard grey and white colour scheme with quirky art and paintings on the wall. We made our selves comfortable on the couch that runs across the wall and started our evening with a glass of delicious sangria.
The grilled chicken skewers were brilliantly marinated in Peri Peri sauce and won us over in the first bite itself.
Being fans of salads, we called for Oak Ash Chevre + Californian Orange Salad (Rs.350). The salad was fresh with delicious dressing. The salad was followed by Peri Peri rubbed Chicken Satay (Rs.390). The grilled chicken skewers were brilliantly marinated in Peri Peri sauce and won us over in the first bite itself.
For main course, we called for Grilled Salmon (Rs.950) and Honey Orange Glazed Grilled Pork Chops (Rs.690). The grilled fish was served with broccoli and spinach and was close to perfection. The salmon was succulent and the veggies complemented the dish well. The pork chops were accompanied by mash potatoes and roasted beets and tasted fine.
We ended our dinner with Panacotta (Rs.180) and Creme Brule (Rs.180). While the Creme Brule wasn’t up to the mark and tasted more like homemade pudding, the Panacotta gets a thumps up!
