Tri-coloured cupcakes for Republic Day celebration
What better way to celebrate Republic Day than baking some cute, little tri-coloured cupcakes! Your folks are sure to want more than just one. You can also share some trivia about the Constitution of India as your kids are busy enjoying these treats. This is one good way of getting your little learners to know more about our country’s glorious history. Isn’t it?
Chocolate Cupcakes
Ingredients:
250 gms flour
50 gms cocoa powder
200 gms condensed milk
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup soft butter
100 ml water
Method:
1. Sift dry ingredients together.
2. Combine the flour, condensed milk, and water in a bowl and whisk well.
3. Line 12 mini cupcake tins with cupcake lines and fill until half full. Bake for about 10-12 minutes (or until a tester comes out with moist crumbs stuck to it) in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celcius.
4. Remove, demould, cool.
Butter Cream
Ingredients:
100g salted yellow butter
200g icing sugar, seived
75g mixed green and orange sprinkles
Method:
1. Whip butter until pale yellow.
2. Add the icing sugar in three additions and whisk well, untill smooth and you have a pipable consistency.
3. Mix in the confetti and pipe rosettes onto the cooled cupcakes.
