Tasty and easy French onion soup

Simple things give us great joy. Such is the case with this homemade French onion soup recipe that is quick, easy and can make a full meal if accompanied by toasted garlic bread. So, if you’re planning to sit in front of the TV in your pajamas, enjoying your favourite romcom this evening with a big bowl of delicious soup, this one’s apt.  Enjoy this tasty and comforting meal with lots of ‘me time’!

Ingredients:

1 big onion, sliced (or 2 small onions)
½ tsp soya sauce
1 chicken cube (available at grocery stores)
Salt and pepper as per taste
2 tsp butter
3-4 cups water

Method:

1. In a saucepan, add butter and let it melt. Add the sliced onions and fry until they turn brown (a little more than the regular browned onions).

2. When the onions are fried golden brown, add water and let it boil.

3. Now add salt, pepper, soya sauce and the chicken cube to the soup.

4. Let this mix boil for five minutes.

5. Serve hot with toasted garlic bread for a full-fledged meal.
