Get the flavour of chocolate and the crunch of sesame in this innovative dessert
We know that chocolate is a forever favourite with foodies. But it’s time to bring-in some innovation to a regular chocolate dessert. So here’s a refreshing new combo that will take you by surprise! Sesame has multiple health benefits and we just figured that it even tastes great with chocolate. This recipe of Sesame and Chocolate Bars with Belgian Chocolate Ganache is as interesting and delectable as it sounds. It has a luscious chocolat-ey flavour and a crunchy after taste. Try it out.
Ingredients:
250g flour
100g butter
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
50g cocoa powder
200g condensed milk
100ml water
1tbsp white sesame paste
1 tsp white sesame seeds
Method:
1.Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder together. Mix in the sesame seeds.
2.Melt the butter and mix in the sesame paste. Add to the condensed milk and mix well. Add the water and mix well.
3.Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk well, leaving no lumps.
4.Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
5.Pipe out the batter into well oiled silicon moulds, taking care not to fill to the top.
6.Bake for 10-12 minutes, let cool for 3 minutes and then de-mould.
For Belgian Chocolate Ganache
Ingredients:
250g Belgian Chocolate, chopped into equal pieces
125g heavy cream
25g salted butter
Method:
1.Boil cream.
2.Add half to the chocolate. Whisk cream and chocolate. Add the remaining cream and whisk to incorporate.
3.Let cool slightly and whisk in butter. Let cool completely.
Assembling: Use a piping bag to pipe swirls onto the cooled sesame slices.
