Have you ever wondered how chefs on TV or restaurants slice the perfect fish or chicken filet? You would probably credit it to something on the lines of Edward-Scissorhands-esque skills. But, the truth is there’s little to talent without the right tools. With a boning knife that is specially designed to filet a piece of chicken or fish, anyone can be a Master Meat Slicer.
What is a boning knife
It is used to cut poultry or seafood at home. The knife is flexible with a handle that allows for a firm grip. Consequently, it lets you get close to the bone and slice the meat with minimum wastage.
How to use
Firmly wrap your fingers around the grip, and ensure that your index finger and thumb control the knife. Now, take a clean piece of chicken with the bones intact and start slicing the meat as close to the bone as possible. You will see that the piece of meat comes off neatly and you will have your filet.
