How to Make White Chocolate Mousse With Strawberry Sauce [Video]

Up until now, we were under the impression that the most sinful desserts were those that were dense, dark and rich. No points for guessing that anything with chocolate qualifies straight away! But this White Chocolate Mousse with Strawberry Sauce dessert is as sinful as it gets. Rich, creamy and smooth, this one steals the spotlight from every brown, dark or colourful sweet dish you’ve ever come across. And you’ll love it even more when you figure how easy it is to make. Here’s the recipe for you to relish.

 

Ingredients:

 

For the strawberry sauce:

½ cup mashed strawberries
1 tsp cornflour
4 tsp sugar
½ tsp lemon juice


For the white chocolate mousse:

1 cup roughly chopped white chocolate
¼ cup milk
1 ½ cups beaten whipped cream
¼ tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp powdered sugar
½ tsp lemon juice

 

For the garnish:

2 tbsp beaten whipped cream
2 strawberries cut into halves

 

Method:

 

For the strawberry sauce:

1. Combine the strawberries, cornflour and water mixture and sugar in a broad non-stick pan. Mix well and cook on medium flame for two to three minutes, while stirring continuously.
2. Add the lemon juice and mix well.
3. Remove from the flame, keep aside and allow it to cool.

 

For the white chocolate mousse:

1. Combine chocolate and milk in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for two minutes.
2. Remove from the microwave and mix well until no lumps remain. Then strain to get rid of any lumps using a strainer.
3. Add the beaten whipped cream and mix gently.
4. Add the vanilla essence and sugar and continue mixing gently.

 

How to proceed:

1. Pour equal quantities of the chocolate mousse into four individual glasses and level it using a flat spoon.
2. Pour two tbsp of the strawberry sauce over the prepared white chocolate mousse in each of the individual glasses.
3. Place a dollop of beaten whipped cream in the centre of each of the glass and place a strawberry halve over it.
4. Refrigerate for at least two hours. Serve chilled.
