How to Make Tomato Fish [Video]

Fish, with its many health benefits, is also rather easy to cook. It just needs the right spices and marination. With this recipe of spicy tomato fish, we tell you what you can make for dinner tonight. It’s a dry dish that can take a simple rice and dal combo to the next level. Let’s get cooking.


Ingredients:


500g of raavas (Salmon Indian) marinated for two hours in salt, turmeric, oil and lemon
5 tomatoes, finely chopped
3-4 tbsp of fresh garlic greens, finely chopped
3 tbsp of coriander, finely chopped
2 tbsp of oil
1 tsp salt
1 ¼ tsp of red chilli powder
2-3 green chillies for garnish
Oil for frying

 

Method:


  1. Heat 3-4 tbsp of oil.
  2. Add some fresh garlic and sauté.
  3. Add the marinated fish pieces once the garlic turn golden brown.
  4. Shallow fry the fish pieces. Gently turn the fish pieces and cook from the other side. Partly cook the fish as there are two parts of cooking the fish. Cook the fish on the other side for another two mins. Once done transfer it out on to a tissue paper
  5. Use the same oil for making the gravy.
  6. Add the fresh garlic and garlic greens into the pan. Stir well.
  7. Add the finely chopped tomatoes, few coriander leaves, 1 tsp of salt, ¼ tsp of red chilli powder. Stir well.
  8. Add half a glass of water to make the tomatoes pasty.
  9. Mash the tomatoes with the help of a masher.
  10. Add the fried fish pieces into the gravy.
  11. Coat the fish with the tomato gravy.
  12. Cover the pan with a lid and let the fish cook for another five mins.
  13. Garnish the fish with green chillies, coriander and garlic greens.
  14. Tomato fish is ready to serve.
