Easy-to-make Tahini dip
The terms Lebanese and Tahini go hand in hand. No Lebanese dish is served sans this bitter sour dip recipe churned out of sesame seeds and curd. Two healthy ingredients are combined in a unique formula to whip up this incredible dip that can even make a full-fledged meal if served with pita bread or lavash. But you can use it as a salad dressing, a sauce for your starters or a dip that can accompany the main dish. It’s a simple recipe that adds a tinge of sour taste to your palate. Try it out.
Ingredients:
1 cup thick fresh curds , whisked
For the Tahini paste:
2 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
salt to taste
Method:
1. Roast the sesame seeds in a non-stick tava (griddle) on a medium flame for a few seconds.
2. Allow it to cool completely, transfer to a bowl and add the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt.
3. Blend in a mixer to a smooth paste and keep aside.
4. Combine the curd and the prepared Tahini paste in a bowl and mix well using a whisk.
5. Serve chilled with pita bread or lavash.
