Scrumptious kalimirch chicken

 

 

Black pepper, or our very own desi kalimirch, is a very useful spice with multiple uses. Pairing this spice with chicken makes for a scrumptious dish. Here’s a recipe of Kalimirch Chicken that will awaken your taste buds with its tantalising flavour. This simple dish can be served as a starter, or accompanied by roties to make a full-fledged meal. 

 

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken cut into pieces
1 large onion diced into pieces
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Lime juice of 2 lemons
3 tbsp of garlic ginger paste
Oil
1 ½ – 2 tbsp of freshly ground black pepper
Salt to taste
1 tsp garam masala

 

Method:

1. Pour two table spoons of oil in a pan and let it heat.

2. Add the garlic ginger paste and onions. Let the onions cook for 2-3 minutes.

3. Now add the chicken pieces and let it cook for a while.

4. Add the salt and pepper (Tip: To increase the spice, one can add more black pepper).

5. Shut the vessel and let it cook for 15- 20 minutes till the chicken has become tender.

6. Add a little water on the lid so that the chicken cooks fast and does not burn.

7. After it cooks for 20 -25 minutes, remove the lid and add lime juice.

8. Check if the chicken is done and then add the garam masala.

9. Add the coriander leaves and the remaining black pepper. (Tip: One can add 1 tsp butter or 2 tbsp cream to give a fine glaze to the chicken)
