How to Make Corn Cheese Toast [Video]

Corn and cheese is a combo that everyone loves. We’ve managed to combine the two to give you a scrumptious snack that’ll have everyone asking for more. A generous mix of calcium-rich ingredients seasoned with fresh herbs, served with fibre-rich whole wheat bread; sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Here’s the quick and simple recipe to make corn cheese toast.

 

Ingredients:

4 toasted whole wheat bread slices, cut into halves
½ cup boiled sweet corn kernels
2 tbsp grated processed cheese
1 tbsp butter
¼ cup onions, finely chopped
2 tsp plain flour
¾ cup milk
2 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
½ tsp dried mixed herbs
¼ tsp mustard powder
salt to taste
Tomato ketchup as per taste 

 

Method:

1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for one to two minutes.

2. Add the plain flour and cook on a medium flame for a few seconds.

3. Add the milk and cook on a medium flame for one to two minutes or till the sauce thickens, while stirring continuously.

4. Add the capsicum, mixed herbs, cheese and mix well. Cook on a medium flame for 30 seconds.

5. Add the mustard powder, corn and salt and cook on a medium flame for one to two minutes, while stirring continuously.

6. Divide the corn and cheese topping into 8 equal portions.

7. Spread a portion of the topping evenly on each toasted bread.

8. Serve immediately topped with tomato ketchup.
