Easy-to-make aloo paneer chaat

 

 

Do you have those impromptu evening get-togethers that demand some fun-filled conversations and chatpata chaats? Here’s a recipe of aloo paneer chaat that combines baby potatoes with calcium-rich paneer, along with a tinge of lemon and a pinch of chaat masala for a fun-filled, tangy evening snack. It’s simple and quick, making it the best dish to cook up on a short notice.

 

Ingredients

 

1½ cups fried paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
¾ cup boiled potato cubes
¾ cup boiled green peas
1/3 cup oil
½ tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
salt to taste
1 ½ tsp chaat masala
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 ½ tsp lemon juice

 

For garnish:


2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)

 

Method:


1. Heat the oil on a tava (griddle). Add the potatoes and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes, till the potatoes are brown from all the sides, while stirring occasionally.

2. Slide the potatoes around the circumference of the tava (griddle).

3. Add the green peas and ginger in the same oil, mix well and cook on a medium flame for one to two minutes, while stirring occasionally.

4. Add the paneer, salt, chaat masala, green chillies and lemon juice, mix well and cook on a medium flame for two to three minutes, while stirring occasionally.

5. Slide the potatoes back to the centre of the tava (griddle) and toss well with all the ingredients.

6. Serve immediately garnished with coriander.
