Tis’ the season to party! We are sure you are going to make the most of the holiday season. For all those who love to surprise their guests, here are some cocktails that offer a tasty mix of flavours with the perfect dash of alcohol. To stir things up for a fun-filled evening, these cocktails will take you a long way as you host a spontaneous get-together.
Strawberry and coriander martini: With the goodness of strawberries and the twist of vodka, this cocktail sure does the trick.
Ingredients:
¼ cup strawberry crush
fresh coriander
15 ml lime juice
45 ml vodka
Sprite
Method: Mix the strawberry crush, lime juice, vodka and coriander leaves together. Shake all the ingredients well along with ice. Double strain the mixture in a martini or fancy glass.
A cocktail with star Anise: This drink is a unique blend of flavours that’ll linger on as the evening gets more boozy.
Ingredients:
1 Star anise
1 glass orange juice
1 lemon
¼ cup passion fruit crush
A few basil leaves (2-3)
45 ml vodka
Method: Muddle star anise and basil leaves together. Then add orange juice, lime juice and passion fruit crush to the vodka and shake with ice or blend in the mixer. Strain the mixture and pour in a clean glass. Garnish with a piece of orange.
Fire and ice: This one is a winner and makes for a tasteful concoction that’ll put you in happy mode.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp Ginger and lime cordial
60 ml premium vodka
½ apple green apple diced
2- 3 drops tabasco
120 ml lemonade (to top up)
3 apple slice (garnish)
1 chilly (garnish)
Method:
Add diced apple in a tall glass along with vodka and ginger lime cordial. Top it with lemonade and tobacco and gently stir. Garnish with a slice of apple.
Aweberry: Another unique mix that is the perfect balance of strong and sweet tastes.
Ingredients:
60 ml premium white rum
2-3 drops rose water
4-6 fresh strawberry
100 ml lychee juice
1 lime juice
1 tsp castor sugar
2-3 rose petals (garnish)
Method:
Add lime juice with castor sugar and stir. Add white rum, lychee juice and rose water. Shake everything together in a cocktail shaker and stir. Strain it in a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh strawberries and rose petals.
Bellini: This classic drink is loved by many for its light taste with the sweet peach surprise.
Ingredients:
30 ml puree of peach
¼ tspn freshly squeezed lime juice
1 glass Prosecco sparkling wine
Peach slices for garnish
Method:
Pour the peach puree and lemon juice in a fancy champagne glass. Top it with wine and stir. Garnish with peach slices.
Manhattan: Another classic cocktail, this one has fans all across the globe.
Ingredients:
60 ml whiskey
15 ml sweet vermouth
1 angostura bitters (available in market)
1 cup ice cubes
1 cherry (garnish)
Method:
Bring together the bitters, whiskey and vermouth with ice in a mixing glass and stir. Strain into fancy glass and garnish with a cherry
Bloody Mary: This drink is popular for the spicy kick it adds to your palate.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups ice cubes
120 ml tomato juice
40 ml vodka
20 ml lemon juice (fresh)
1 tspn tabasco sauce
1 tspn worchester sauce
A pinch of salt and pepper
Celery for garnish
Method:
Fill a mixing glass with some ice and add all the ingredients in it. Shake the glass well to combine all the different liquids together. Strain the mixture and pour into a fresh glass filled with ice. Garnish with celery.
