Bollywood celebrities are just like us (sometimes). They too have human moments, like indulging in their favourite meals when they’re not getting shredded at the gym or turning heads at the red carpet. We all have those days when you don’t want to eat ghar ka khana and look for sustenance elsewhere. Same is the case with our celebrities, who want to dine in some of Mumbai’s most-acclaimed restaurants.
Here is a lowdown on the Mumbai eateries that are favoured celeb haunts:
Amar Juice Centre, Vile Parle
Many Mumbaikars would say that the pav bhaji at Sardaar’s in Tardeo is the best; but Sonam Kapoor feels “nothing beats the pav bhaji at this place.” And well, we would like to agree with her. Amar is the real shiz. They serve five types of pav bhaji, and they are all to die for.
Cafe Noorani, Haji Ali
Salman Khan and his love for biryani is known to all. Nothing beats the biryani that is cooked by his mom. But of course, that’s a privilege only Salman and his family members have. If not that, Salman has confessed that Cafe Noorani, located opposite Haji Ali, is his go-to for a biryani fix.
Manju Dosa, Khar
Manju Dosa in Khar serves 40 types of dosas that are loaded with 20 different ingredients and made with a lot of butter. Shah Rukh Khan, however, loves the sada dosa and masala dosa here. “When we end up working late, I like eating sada dosa or masala dosa with coconut curry from Manju Dosa Center, near my office,” SRK revealed in an interview in 2017.
Wasabi by Morimoto, Colaba
Wasabi by Morimoto at The Taj Mahal Palace is rated as one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. It is a go-to place for Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar is regular here as well. It is famous for its Iron Chef Morimoto-inspired Japanese dishes, sushi bar, and teppanyaki counter.
Mezzo Mezzo, Juhu
Amitabh Bachchan is a fan of the pasta at Mezzo Mezzo in JW Marriot, Juhu. It has to be your go-to place for Italian food.
Bastian, Bandra
Bastian by chef Kelvin Cheung is a favourite of many celebs! Be it the delicious cheesecakes or the extensive seafood menu – everything here is loved by stars like Alia Bhatt, Shilpa Shetty, and Karan Johar, who are known to head here on their ‘cheat’ days.
Prithvi Cafe, Juhu
Not just the young guns of Bollywood, but film veterans like Anupam Kher, Ila Arun, and Divya Dutta can also be seen here. Have a cup of their famous masala chai or cold coffee. And of course, bask in the ambience.
