After months of sweating it out in the sun, the rains are here providing a much needed relief. Now that the weather is chilly and romantic there is only one thing that can make it better – food. Delicious desi food especially some spicy, hot favourites just make the rain all the more pleasant. Here’s our list of desi delicacies that were meant for the monsoon.
Freshly roasted corn on the cob with lemon and chilli. Our beloved bhutta‘s are monsoon favourites.
Just off the tava, hot Aloo Parathas. There’s no better treat in this chilly weather.
Piping hot Pakodas, be it aloo, kanda or even mirchi are extremely popular in this season.
Hot and crispy Samosas taste 100 times better during the monsoon.
Steaming hot Jalebis. Pure sin.
Hot coffee. There’s nothing more satisfying in this weather.
Masala chai with a hint of adrak. Best. Beverage. Ever.
Ragda Pattice Chaat. You’ve got to try it in this awesome weather.
Kesar or Badam milk. A glass right before you go to sleep.
Gajar ka Halwa (or even besan). Period.
Batata Vadas. Potatoes never disappoint.
Dosas. Crispy, hot and totally yummy.
Shorba. Sipping on some steamy soup is so comforting during the rains.
Khichdi. This popular comfort food has to be on your monsoon favourites list.
Chicken Tandoori. The weather outside calls for some feasting on hot and spicy chicken tandoori.
