Running around in the kitchen, doing a million things with just two hands is a situation we know all too well. After all, getting dinner ready on time isn’t an easy task. It needs multiple preparations and a whole lot of planning to successfully make a mess-free meal. But we discovered some neat tricks that’ll surely change the game in your kitchen and make you the undoubted kitchen queen.
1. Slice cake effortlessly: Want to slice your moist freshly baked cake without leaving behind too many crumbs? Run your knife under hot water, dry it with a towel and then proceed to slice the cake. The hot knife will help you slice the cake easily.
2. Make bananas last longer: The best way to store bananas is to keep them in separate batches. This will help them last up to a week.
3. Prevent salad leaves from going soggy: Cover the salad leaves with a paper towel. This will soak up all the extra moisture and keep them from getting soggy.
4. Keep cakes fresh: It’s difficult to keep homemade cakes fresh. But you can do it by putting a slice of bread in it.
5. Make mini tacos: Use a cupcake tin upside down to make mini tacos in a jiffy.
6. Foldable funnel: Your funnel taking too much space? How about using an envelope instead of a funnel. Make a hole in one of the sealed corners and use it efficiently.
7. Dice mangoes quickly: Keep the mango skin and dice it instead of peeling it and then dicing. Slice off the sides and cut the mango flesh into a grid and then slice it off the skin. Tada… Perfectly diced mango cubes in under five minutes.
8. Clean as you go: Your kitchen will turn into a mess if you are cooking but the best way to deal with it is to clean as you go. This will save a lot of your cleaning time.
9. De-skin potatoes easily: The most time-saving way to do this is by boiling the potato and giving it a cold water bath which will automatically separate the skin from the potato, so you can easily peel it off.
10. Use a food hugger to keep food fresh: If you too are in the habit of keeping half your veggie nubs for later use, then use a vegetable hugger to keep them fresh.
11. Separate egg yolks easily: Use a plastic bottle to create suctioning action that will pull in the yolk and leave the egg whites behind separating them perfectly.
12. Arrange cold cuts to cover every corner: Arrange them in a way that will cover every inch of your sandwich.
13. Peel many boiled eggs together: If you’ve got a lot of hard boiled eggs to peel, put them in a container and shake them together. This will crack all the peels and it will be easier to get the skin off.
14. Apple slicer to cut potatoes: Use an apple slicer, which will help you cut your potatoes quickly and perfectly.
15. Cut small food items into half easily: Food items like cherry tomatoes can be cut into half instantly by placing them in between two plastic container lids and slicing like shown in the image.
