Don’t kill me just yet for saying this but Samsung as a smartphone manufacturer has always been a bandwagon sort of brand. Yes they were the first to put curved screens on phones, but they have a propensity to capitalize on trends and rumors. Just recently there were whispers in the grapevine that Samsung plans on obliterating the headphone jack and the home button in their next iteration of the Galaxy flagship series. However, this conceptual design by Song Kyuho retains both of them. It does however put a dual camera on the back of the phone, so as to compete with brands like LG, Apple and Huawei.
The aesthetic of the S8 concept is a lot like Samsung’s older phones. Soft curves and elegantly executed radii are reminiscent of Samsung’s older plastic body days, but when executed in anodized metal, the phone looks like a polished meteorite slab! I’ll say it, I’m quite impressed!
