BoBo (love the name!) takes inspiration from the African Baobab tree which features a wide trunk and fragile branches – a look that defies all laws of correct proportions! It’s truly one-of-a-kind and this is also true of this unique side table. Despite its unconventional style, it’s extremely handy, offering three surfaces for beverages, phones, tablets, remotes, books and other objects. There are two standard versions – the first with burned oak and solid brushed brash or natural oak with white steel. The black version is colored using the ancient Japanese Shou-sugi-ban technique in which wood is burned and brushed to form a natural protection. This traditional torching method garnets a much richer color than standard stain and deepens the grain of the oak. After burning and brushing the side table is lacquered to prevent the release of charcoal. As in all designs by RKNL, BoBo is made by real craftsmen and not mass production. As a result, each has its own distinct character.
