The age of autonomous vehicles is upon us and the trucking industry has already caught the self-driving fever! The Volvo Autonomous Trailer AT404 is a bit different from other concepts, however. The driverless design is actually a modular system of multiple containers held together by magnetic force. Each unit can be specialized to hold specific types of cargo. On a trip, sections can be dropped off and replaced an infinite number of times. The modular design also makes the truck as a whole more flexible. Without a single, stiff container, it can bend and move with greater agility!
