Designer Daniel Kim attempts to reinvigorate the stagnant Kodak brand by giving the Instamatic, a model that revolutionized amateur photography, a modern makeover. The whole new Instamatic moves the brand forward with its retro futuristic look through the integration of new emerging technological advancements, keeping much of its classic charm; gaining momentous interest from both the loyal Kodak enthusiasts and new young consumers. Functional features of the Instamatic were always manually controlled on the original model. The tactile process and experience gave enthusiasts a deeper love and appreciation for and connection to photography. Keeping such various classic details like the round exposure control and the cylindrical shutter button brings about a sense of familiarity. The new Instamatic infuses the old with the new, only enhancing the experience of photography.
