It’s time to ditch your black liner for something a lot more runway-approved. Blue eye make-up, in many different variations, was a huge trend on the Spring Summer 2015 runway, from Chanel to Sonia Rykiel. There are so many ways you can work this colour into your make-up regime, be it for the day or date night. Be it pastel or cobalt, matte or shimmer, here are the ways you can incorporate true blue to jazz up those gorgeous eyes of yours.
Pop Art Cat-Eye
Opt for a periwinkle or azure liquid liner and sweep it onto your lid, extending the flick. It’s like a classic cat-eye, only with blue, rather than black. It’s simple, but effective as seen in the Hugo Boss Spring-Summer 2016 show in New York.
Bohemian Rhaspsody
Take a pastel eyeshadow – a duck egg blue – and diffuse it all over your lid with a blending brush. Then, use a flat brush to blend it on your lower lash line as well. If you wet your brush, you can use it like kohl. This is a gorgeous, modern take on the always fashionable 70s boho vibe.
In The Navy
You love your smokey eye for a night out, right? Just switch your routine and use navy blue instead of your regular black. Just blend a shimmery, dark navy shadow on your eyelid. Smudge kohl on your lower lash line and then trace the navy over it. Blend the two for a modern, rocker look.
Cool In Cobalt
Take a creamy eye pencil in cobalt or another shade of bright blue and rim your lower lashline (just the way you apply kajal) and your upper lashline as well. It’s the easiest, most chic way to incorporate the trend into your daily steez.
Lashing Out
Trade your black mascara for a blue, volumising version to get ethereal butterfly lashes. Keep your eyelids glossy (just dab some Vaseline on!) and pile on loads of blue mascara on your upper and lower lashes. Remember to comb your lashes, though. Clumps are not welcome.
