After a long day at work, all I wanted to do was relax and feel good. I went over to Wafflist, which is a stone’s throw away from my home. Located near the Bombay Stock Exchange building at Fort, this is a cute place that can instantly make you feel cozy and comfortable (thanks to the dim lights).
One look at the menu and you know you are going to be in for a treat. From the lip-smacking quick bites to yummy, soothing milkshakes, they have it all. I first ordered Swiss Rosti, which was made of roasted and lightly baked potatoes along with some olives and jalapenos. I loved this one simply because of the slight sour taste and loved how the chilli and mayo sauce was smeared on it. It’s spicy, mind you. The Rosti is quite filling and not even expensive.
If you love everything sweet, then obviously you have to try the waffles! They are served with fresh fruits, which add that natural flavour to your creamy waffles. I tried the delicious Strawberry Chocolate Waffle Sundae. It was love at first bite – creamy and fresh! Of course it’s a delight for strawberry lovers. Of course, it won’t be a delightful thing for strawberry lovers when the season for strawberries is over. Sad part the strawberry dishes are season bound.
Next up, I tried the Bon Bon shake. I thought it would have crunchy bites of the cookies. But this was had no crunchiness, it was smooth, thick and very chocolaty.
By now I was quite stuffed. But how could I say no to the Chocolate Chilli shot?! The name just had me there. It was served in a small vodka shot-size glass. It was a lip-smacking thick chocolate shake peppered with chilli powder. As I downed it, the spicy flavour was so strong that it overpowered the chocolate flavour. I assure you the shot won’t burn your tongue so you can definitely give this a try. Overall, Wafflist is a great place to hang out with friends if you are bored with your regular cafes. Moreover, the rates are reasonable so it won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
