According to most news websites, a 28-day-old baby was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man. While this is shocking and scary on so many levels, I had to read the report twice, to make sure I was reading what I was reading. 28-day-old.
This incident that took place in Bullandshahr, UP is yet another horrifying case of assault that has been reported from this area in recent times. We’ve heard of the rapes, murders, assaults, khap panchayats and many more barbaric practices that sent shivers down our spine, just reading about it. But this is seriously the limit.
One of the questions running in my head- what pleasure was he seeking while assaulting this little baby whose private parts are just a few weeks old, and yet to grow.
The parents of this little girl had gone to cast their vote at the Gram Pradhan elections, and found their child bleeding when they returned home. They live in a village called Asif Nagla, which falls under the Khurja Dehat Police Station.
This incident took place on Sunday and it has left us completely shaken. We can’t fathom how someone can commit such a heinous crime.
The baby, we hear had to be taken to a hospital in Khurja, and the parents have filed an FIR against Namino (25) from the same village who is currently on the run.
Though not much is known about the condition of the baby or the accused, this is a shocking incident. I am aghast and this unfortunate incident only proves that nobody is safe. From the time we are born till the time we die, a girl’s safety is always under threat. Such inhuman incidences of cruelty simply prove that humanity is dying a slow death and we don’t know who is going to be the next victim, the next Nirbhaya.
In such circumstances there’s hardly anything that can be done and time may heal the physical wounds but the mental scars remain forever.
We only hope and pray that this baby is on the road to recovery and the criminal gets his due in time.
