If you’ve not already met ‘Normal Barbie’, here is Lammily. She was created last year by designer Nickolay Lamm with the proportions of an average 19-year-old woman. Unlike the original barbie, this doll is shorter, has flatter feet and looks a lot more like a realistic woman. The add-on pack, which comes with this doll includes stickers of tattoos, cellulite and stretch marks that can be placed on the doll’s body to give little girls all over a better image of what real women look like.

But these physical attributes are not the only things making her relatable. Like all other girls, Lammily just got her periods too, and she’s ready to pass this crucial right of passage with her new add-on period party extension kit. The creator’s intention behind this thoughtful idea was to get families and children talking about this natural phenomenon all girls go through-their periods.

Many parents don’t think it’s important to have the period talk with their daughters, before it actually happens to them. But what good does all that waiting do? Every girl’s first blood flood is scary anyway, and not knowing what it is when it happens just gets all the more horrid.

Which is why Lammily intends to teach girls about their periods. The period kit comes with an educational pamphlet, a pair of doll underwear, 19 coloured doll-sized pads, a calendar and stickers to track periods.

With this doll, parents can talk to their kids and even teach them all about menstruation without being completely awkward about it.

We sure do think this is a great idea for kids and parents, but if you still think this is weird, wait till you check out this hilarious video that shows how things can get weirder.
