We Just Spotted a Pink Dolphin (and Yes the Disney World is Real)

Remember those Disney underwater stories. Those colourful corals, talking fishes, beautiful mermaids… well we just got that vision when we saw this pink dolphin.

Pinky, the pink dolphin was first spotted in 2007 in the Calcasieu River off the coast of Lousiana. She was spotted again, 8 years later by captain Erik Rue, who spotted her in 2007, too.

Pinky is an albino bottlenose dolphin, who happens to be pink instead of white. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reveals that very little is known about the albino dolphins due to their extreme rarity. NOAA only has record of two other such dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico. One of these dolphins was spotted in 1994 near New Orleans and the second in 2003 near Galveston, Texas.

This time when Rue spotted Pinky, she was mating which just makes us happy. Soon we’ll have a world full of pink dolphins and everything will just be Disneylicious (sorry we love Disney a bit too much).
