If you have grooved to Eminem’s rap songs, then you are bound to go crazy when you hear Sofia Ashraf. She is the new rapper in town and will soon leave the likes of Honey Singh far, far behind. And the best part; she is rapping about things that actually matter and not ‘chaar bottle vodka’.

Her rap talks about the environmental pollution brought about by Unilever in Kodaikanal. A thermometer factory owned by Unilever dumped 7.4 tons of toxic waste, which included mercury-laced shards of glass from crushed thermometers in the waters, shrubbery and forests of the sleepy foothills of the Eastern Ghats. The toxic waste is changing life in Kodaikanal inflicting genetic disorders, cancers and other deformities on the people of this region.
