Summer spells happy moments and family time. And what better way to make the most of the season than with a refreshing meal? Don’t work up a sweat over the stove; instead try something cool that will not only help you beat the summer heat but also give your family a happy meal. Be prepared, these summer sides will make you drool!
Pasta and Cherry Tomatoes
All you need is boiled pasta, preferably farfalle, some sautéed cherry tomatoes and other veggies if you like, salt, pepper, oregano and a little olive oil. Toss them in a bowl and top it all up, with crumbled Mother Dairy Paneer. Looks sumptuous, tastes delicious!
Creamy Fruit Salad
The best fruits to go in this salad are fresh berries and grapes, and since it’s the season for the king of fruits, don’t forget to throw in some juicy mangoes. Add some Mother Dairy flavoured yogurt to the fruits and toss them well. Here’s a side dish that can also serve as a dessert. Quick Tip: Add some nuts to this mix to make it even richer.
Green Beans and Potatoes
Just chop some green beans and potatoes. Sauté them in a pan and add your favourite spices. Add a pack of Mother Dairy Chach, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve with roast chicken or some fried rice for a delectable meal!
Tahini
A great side, tahini is simple to prepare and healthy too. You just need to heat some extra virgin olive oil in a pan. Add some roasted sesame seeds to it, along with minced garlic and red pepper flakes. When the garlic turns golden brown, pour in half a cup of Mother Dairy Curd. Let the mix simmer for a minute, and then add some lime zest and salt to taste. You can use mint leaves to garnish this tasty dip.
Cabbage and Pineapple Salad
You will need freshly chopped cabbage and finely dices pineapple to begin with. Even tinned pineapple works fine with this dish. Add a dollop of butter in a heated pan, and throw in the cabbage and pineapple. Sauté the mix and add a little sugar to it. Now add a pinch of cinnamon to a couple of tablespoons of Mother Dairy Curd and mix it into the salad. And there it is – your perfect side dish for a sunny afternoon.
Roasted Paneer
Here’s another dish that will impress one and all, and will not take up much of your time. Take Mother Dairy Paneer, and dice it into medium-sized cubes. Now put it into a mixing bowl. Add salt, turmeric and red chilli powder in the bowl, along with a teaspoon of curd. Toss it well, and marinate for 10 to 15 minutes. Now, put the cubes of paneer onto skewers, separating each piece by diced bell peppers and onions. Place them in the oven and allow them to cook. Serve as a side with your regular meal.
