LG Electronics has reportedly joined with instant messaging app Line for development of an application that may enable users to send SMS to LG appliances and by instructing various tasks.
The service, named HomeChat, which is based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to send the text messages and works for Nokia Asha, Android, BlackBerry, IOS, and Windows Phone devices as well as OS X and Windows computers.
The option of ‘chatting’ with the appliance define that it should be able to process messages like ‘I’m going on shopping’ and automatically go to a power-saver mode or run auto-programs in views of Cnet.
Users can also communicate with a single gadget, as needed, for example, asking Hom-Bot Square, ‘When did you last clean?’ and the device would tell how long it’s been since the user has last emptied.
