The most awaited festival of the year is over and we’ve been more than lucky to have a blessed Diwali. But our tummies are still trying to deal with the post-festivities sweet crunch. So, if you are craving desserts, make this simple, yet comforting dish that’s packed with the goodness of apples. Here’s the recipe of Apple Crumble for a post-Diwali treat.
Ingredients:
225 gms soft butter
2 gms sugar free
300 gms flour
500 gms red apple
2 gms cinnamon powder
20 gms butter
40 gms raisin
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
24cm/9in ovenproof dish
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
2. Place the flour and sugar free in a large bowl and mix well.
3. Add soft butter and rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
4. Place the apple slice in a large bowl and sprinkle over the sugar, flour and cinnamon.
5. Butter a 24cm/9in ovenproof dish. Spoon the apple into the bottom, then sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
6. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the crumble is browned.
7. Serve with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream.
