Delicious Malaysian-style fried rice
Fried rice is a popular dish that has now got a certain Indian touch to it. Chinese- Indian restaurants have their own version of the famous fried rice that’s now synonyms with Chinese cuisine. But have you heard of the Nasi Goreng or Malaysian-style fried rice that’s garnished with a fried egg and served with prawn crackers on the side? Well, it’s time to embrace world cuisine and get set to make something unique yet simple. Here’s the recipe of Nasi Goreng to add flavour to your week.
Ingredients:
180 gms rice (cooked)
15 gms spring onions
10 gms garlic, chopped
30 gms chicken, diced
30 gms shrimp (16/20 dice)
2 eggs
Salt as per taste
5 gms sugar
15 gms oyster sauce
15 gms sweet soy ABC sauce
15 gms sambal
30 gms chicken satay (optional)
20 gms prawn cracker
Method:
1. In a pan, sauté dices of chicken thigh and shrimp until cooked. Add chopped garlic and sauté.
2. Add eggs and cook, mix previously cooked rice and season with salt, sugar, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce and sambal.
3. Grill chicken satay until cooked and fry prawn crackers in hot oil.
4. Cook fried egg on a pan and keep aside.
5. Put nasi goreng on the plate with sprinkled brown onion and spring onion.
6. Put fried egg on top and serve along with chicken satay and prawn cracker on the side of the plate.
