A wedding must have a wedding cake! And today, more thought is going into this dessert than ever, with couples keen to show off the sweet details as a reflection of their own personalities. These cakes depict the wedding flowers, dress and décor in elaborate, personalised ways.
Says Mumbai-based cake expert, Bunty Mahajan, “Earlier, a wedding cake was just part of Christian tradition, but now Punjabi, Gujarati and Sindhi families are also putting it on their must-have list. The cakes are made to go with the wedding theme and colour, so customisation in motifs and moulds is a big trend.”
