As daunting and scary as it sounds, the younger crowd embraces open communication and the clarity that comes with it. Based on a survey, a significant 53% of Indians including LGBTQ+ respondents (51%) affirm that effective communication stands as a prominent green flag! The remaining individuals firmly assert that open communication is an absolute imperative within relationships.
Healthy Boundaries Can’t Be Overlooked
So, what’s our take on this? Do we really require someone hovering over us ceaselessly, day in and day out? Definitely not, right? Approximately 47% of Indian GenZ daters hold the belief that honoring emotional and physical boundaries constitutes a dating green flag.
EQ Is A Must!
A whopping 53% of Indian GenZ, as per their survey consider emotional intelligence and maturity a top-tier dating essential.
Interestingly, 34% of GenZ respondents aren’t fans of emotional unavailability or inconsistency, deeming it a glaring red flag.
Additionally, for 29%, their partner’s reluctance to delve into feelings is a definite no-go. These percentages climb even higher in the LGBTQ+ GenZ community, with 36% identifying emotional unavailability as a red flag and 30% emphasizing the importance of discussing feelings.
Say No To Toxic Behavior.
A significant 40% of GenZers consider self-centeredness and selfish conduct as substantial red flags in the dating arena. This is closely trailed by controlling and manipulative behaviors at 39%, as well as disrespectful or dismissive treatment towards others at 38%.
Check All The Right Boxes
Getting along with one’s friends and family is also a box that needs to be checked. A substantial 49% of GenZ individuals surveyed in India actively seek someone who effortlessly connects with both their family and friends.
Alignment in values and fundamental beliefs is paramount. Despite the open-mindedness of the younger generation, they hold their values and principles in high regard.
For 27% of Indian GenZ respondents, a partner’s lack of belief in equal rights or feminism is a resounding dating red flag, while 21% consider political misalignment equally problematic. In addition, 19% of GenZ survey participants firmly state that they wouldn’t consider dating someone who is not an LGBTQ+ ally.
