The mom guilt conundrum

Aishwarya’s take on juggling motherhood and career is proof that even Bollywood stars face the mom guilt. The dilemma of resuming career after motherhood is quite common and reveals the harsh reality that women go through it more harrowingly than men.

Aishwarya’s choice of prioritising her daughter and family before career does not translate into the fact she is displaying disregard to her career. And the same applies the other way.

One of the ways to cope with mom guilt is to make that powerful choice regardless of what the society will say. Sustaining a career that you worked hard at, after becoming a mother, is a choice. So is taking a break to focus on your child and family.
