Jonas — who was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon—called his daughter a “gift” when host Jimmy Fallon congratulated him and asked him about his role as a new parent. The singer and songwriter said, “Yeah, it’s pretty wild. Our little girl’s home. She’s just amazing. What a gift.”

In response to a question, he also shared that there’s been plenty of advice coming his way: “Turns out everybody I know is a newborn care specialist, all these PhDs I didn’t know they had.”

Fallon further asked him about how the Jonas brothers had reacted to his daughter coming home. Nick said, “Amazing. They got kids of their own–the two older ones–and Franklin Jonas, the youngest, he’s 21 now, can you believe that? He’s the favourite uncle of all, by far. Maybe because he is closest to their age.”

The 29-year-old also shared how the family celebrated Priyanka Chopra’s first Mother’s Day, saying, “Did a little thing at the house. [I] got her a citrus tree that I am gonna plant this week.” When asked, he mentioned that it signified “new life, new things growing”.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter via surrogacy in January this year. The celebrity couple posted an identical statement on their Instagram handles, announcing the birth of their child and asking for privacy. On Mother’s Day, they posted the first pic of their daughter with her face obscured. In their note, they wrote that after spending “100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home”.

A part of PC’s note that accompanied the picture read, “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home…”
