Are You Really In Love With Him Or Do You Just Like The Drama?

I believe that we all were born drama-free. It was growing up, teenage TV shows, and the movies that imbibed in us that drama is awesome.

We love it, don’t we? Life with a hint of the hoo-haas, a chiffon saree flowing in the background, some vermillion dropping mid-air.

That, my friend, is drama that we are so used to in our lives.

I believe that television and movies have tricked us into believing that love is all that jing-bang.

So, when we stumbled upon a podcast on Luminary called Guys We F****d – we thought of dwelling on the much talked about topic of love.

We all have been in relationships. Some have lasted, some didn’t but some spiraled into the most feared thing – ‘drama’.

So, ladies, are you really in love with him, or do you just like the D-word? (Drama, silly)

While we all have a variety of definitions for the word love – I know everyone’s definition consists of a few common things. Respect, space, trust, and understanding are common synonyms of love that most successful relationships possess.

However, if your relationship has anything other than this, there could be space for drama.

Corinne Fisher and Krystyna Hutchinson, in an attempt to derive this theorem in this episode, read some crazy emails from their listeners.

While you have to wait to listen to the bizarre ones that I did, I will help you with a snippet of the one that blew my mind.

Here it goes:

I am in love with my best friend’s ex!

Hello, ladies and pets – I got myself into a dumb b*tch situation. I will start from the beginning. In the fall of 2017, the senior year of high school, I got my best friend Claire to a party. There we meet Dante, a skinny white boy with crooked teeth and friendly eyes.

I started flirting with him but left to go and get a drink. But when I came back Claire and he started making out and started dating until they had to part ways to go to college.

Dante and I became friends and Claire encouraged this. I also dated a boy from his group. In fact, my first love was from his school. Honestly, I had forgotten about my crush on Dante, or at least know that I pushed it far down.

Cut to 2 years later, he came to see me in England when I was there for my gap year and that made me believe that he might feel the same way as me. Then, COVID hit and we started spending lots of time together. To a point when my mom thought we were having an affair. We start spending a lot of time together and ended up having sex one night. The best sex I have ever had.

We acted like a couple and talked about it later that week. He revealed he felt for me for 2 years and decided to wait before telling me. I told him we can’t be together because of Claire.

So, we decided to not date, for now, we will wait it out and see how things go after college.

I can’t stop thinking about him. I never wanted to marry but I don’t mind marrying him. Is it a wrong thing to do to Claire? Is it wrong to feel this way? Can we really do this?”

I wanted to scream, ASK HIM OUT, GIRL!!!

But I guess she loves drama. See what I mean?

So, what’s your drama story? Can you match up to these ladies?

Listen to the podcast for more drama!
