Yami Gautam has cemented her place in the film industry with her performances in Kaabil, Sanam Re, Ginny Weds Sunny and is now shooting her upcoming film A Thursday. The actor, who treated us to some swoon-worthy shots from her home state Himachal Pradesh during the lockdown, opened up about her ‘single’ tag and reiterated that you are not alone as long as you have friends and family around.

“I live with a family that’s quite close-knit. It’s them who I need the most. So, I am very happy and never feel alone or lonely. I am anyway not someone who wants to get out everyday or spend time with someone after work hours,” said Yami, in an interview with Bombay Times.

Yami revealed that if her family is in Mumbai, she prefers heading home straight from work. “I have such a lovely time with them where we chat over chai time, have discussions over good food, talk about movies and have a good time.” She also shares what her siblings sister Surilie and brother Ojas are upto at home. “They are just like Tom and Jerry (laughs). There’s so much entertainment at home. For me this is literally my ideal space.”

The actor was later asked how she manages it when her family is away and her response proves not everyone is afraid to be by themselves. “In that case I spend time watching movies. I also enjoy cooking, which I did through the lockdown last year. I love to bake. I baked a whole batch of yummy cookies. So you see, I happily engage myself up,” she signs off.

During the shoot of their movie Sanam Re, Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat’s relationship status kept the rumour mills abuzz. The two never admitted to being together as Pulkit was yet to finalise his divorce. Later on, reports suggested that the two separated over Pulkit’s temperament.

On the work front, Yami is all set to essay the role of a school teacher named Naina Jaiswal in the upcoming thriller film A Thursday. She has also started shooting for Dasvi, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur.
