Anniversary gifts are always a curveball; do you invest in the same old chocolates and flowers combination or go a step further and get your partner the grooming box he’s been eyeing? Well, I’m here to give you a much more memorable idea….something that’s got the potential to become a personal tradition. So what exactly is it? Well, for her first marriage anniversary, my super talented sister decided to make a year 1 report card for her husband and let me tell you, the idea is genius! For everyone looking for a quirky option, even if you’re just dating, this one totally makes sense. Here’s why:

A. It’s not only funny but informative too

Sure, you’re going to chuckle when you get it but this report card is actually a great way of putting your points on the table without beating around the bush. For Srishti and Sujoy, she marked him on a bunch of different criterias—from serious ones like communication and respect to fun ones like music choice and food ordering skills. Cos those are important too!

B. The idea can be used for any other relationship as well

You could give your friend one for their birthday, your parents for their anniversary or your boyfriend. It’s cute, customized and totally worth the effort—there’s even a section to write down about their performance, just like your teacher did back in high-school! Also, this has the full potential to become a yearly tradition.

C. It’s a great way to assess your own performance

Once you have a clear-cut assessment, it’s so much easier to work out the crinkly bits of the relationship. You can understand exactly where you lack and what your strengths are in a relationship, both of which are only going to make it easier for you to improve and grow.

D. Plus, how cute is this design?

Trust my fashion illustrator sister to come up with the cutest of prints for such an event. From setting up a treasure hunt to getting the report card in order, you’d give full points to being the creative wife!
