It’s been eight years since Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza got married and have known each other for almost two decades now. Can we deny that they are still the cutest and most lovey-dovey Bollywood couple who never fails to charm us with their undying chemistry? No, right? The duo recently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show and shared some interesting anecdotes of their love story.
Recounting one such instance, Riteish shares how he had broken up with Genelia over a text. Well, it’s not what you think. He only tried to pull a prank on her and it went haywire. He said that he had texted Genelia one day while they were dating that he wanted to pull the plug on their relationship. Genelia didn’t really get the prank and instead took his text very seriously, and that was the last time he ever tried to prank her.
Recalling the first time Genelia met Riteish on the sets of their debut film, Tujhe Meri Kasam, she said that she always thought of him as a spoilt brat coming from a political family, but soon she was proven wrong. In no time, she fell head over heels in love with her co-star, got married after dating for 10 long years, and was then blessed with two adorable kids, Riaan and Rahyl.
When the host Kapil Sharma asked Riteish whether he took pheras or an oath during their wedding ceremony, he came up with a hilarious response. He said, “We took pheras. The thing is when you take an oath, it is for a five-year government, it gets changed after five years (he laughs).”
The duo also revealed the cute nicknames they have given each other. Riteish calls Genelia Genee and she calls him Dholu. Such cuties!
Their bond, chemistry and commitment to each other for the past two decades have set major relationship goals for many. They have restored our faith in love and made us believe in marriage and a happily ever after.
