Actor Sushant Singh Rajput died of suicide on 14th June after reportedly battling with depression.

While the entire country reels from the heartbreaking news of Sushant’s untimely demise, his own family has a long way to go before finding peace. His elder sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, who had been actively updating her followers on Facebook, wrote about how her youngest son reacted to the news of his uncle passing away.

In a heartbreaking post, Sushant’s sister Shweta, who lives in the United States, wrote, “When I told Nirvanh the news that Mamu is no more, he said ‘But he is alive in your heart’ 3 times. When a 5-year-old can say something like that… think how strong we should all be… Stay Strong everyone… especially the fans of Sushant… please understand he lives in our hearts and he will always keep doing so…Please don’t do anything that can hurt his soul…Stay Strong! #LongliveSushant #Keeppraying”

Shweta had on Sunday posted on her social media asking for help to reach India, “I need to fly to India ASAP… not able to get any flight tickets… if anyone can help… please let me know.” And then later in the day, she updated, “By everyone’s help…. tickets to India are confirmed. I am flying on 16th, will reach Mumbai via Delhi. Worried about 7 Day quarantine period… is there a way it can be waived off? I need to get to my family soon.”

Shweta often posted about her younger brother on her social media.

The role of nepotism and lack of compassion in Sushant’s death

According to reports, Sushant had been battling clinical depression for the past six months and was prescribed medicines for the same. It is being speculated that he was pushed to take his own life due to unfair treatment at the hands of big production houses and directors who did not want to work with “small-time actors” and shunned him as an outsider without contacts.

He too had spoken about not having friends in the industry during several interviews.

The actor was cremated according to Hindu traditions on June 15 in the presence of family and close friends, including his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. at Mumbai’s Vile Parle crematorium.
