So we’ve all had this burning question when it came to watching Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham–where are all these family rules coming from? Like, chill out Raichands, y’all have too many first-world problems! Since I’ve never been able to answer the question, I thought I might as well waste 3.5 hours of my life and watch the iconic K3G again. So here are a few more detailed questions about the movie that I’ve managed to come up with.
Also I’m assuming everyone has watched K3G about 38 million times and knows the plotline, because there are spoilers ahead.

a) Where is this so-called ‘khandan’ located?
It’s supposed to be somewhere in India but clearly it’s not. Even if you wanted to push it and call that mansion, Chattarpur Farms, everyone would call out the BS. Acres and acres of green fields, with a helicopter landing spot, a 50-bedroom clearly-European castle was being referred to as ‘home’ by the Raichands. Hello, logic?
b) What does this ‘khandan’ do?
They’re supposed to be tycoons but what is it that they do business in? How does one have this much money? Does no one want to know? Not once was it mentioned why the Raichands were so goddamn rich. I even checked on Wikipedia to make sure I didn’t miss out any details and I didn’t.

c) Why was it parampara to go to boarding school?
We get it that the rich might do it differently but come on? What kind of father pushes their pre-teen son out of a perfectly normal life at home to go to a boarding school, when the kid is dead against it? Harsh Mr.Raichand! Especially when you have enough resources to go to a great school in Delhi and get pretty much the same world-class education here.

d) How did Rahul fall in love so fast?
I meannnnn, it took him literally 43 seconds to fall in love with Anjali and fight his family so hard. Also, on a side note, how did he make this much money in London to afford such a big mansion? Clearly Anjali did not have a job and there is a college-going student living with you and a child. How was this being managed?
e) How did Rohan turn so hot?
Considered as one of the biggest mysteries of Bollywood. How Rohan went from a ladoo-eating baby to Hrithik Roshan is beyond everyone’s comprehension.

f) Rohan found Rahul via one online search yet the Raichand Seniors had no clue. How did that happen?
The Raichands really really didn’t care about Rahul it seems.
g) How did Rahul not know it was his own brother?
We get the transformation is drastic but it’s your own brother! Plus, the last time you saw him was 10 years ago when he was at least 12-13 years of age. Not like a baby or an infant. So this was definitely a stretch. The whole second half of the movie is based on the fact that Rahul does not recognize Rohan which is so, so, so dramatic, hayeeeee.

h) So basically Poo was Rahul’s bhabhi’s sister….
We get that it’s not really being super related but like it still is close enough, don’t you think? Especially because they were like 12-13 when Rahul and Anjali got married, so basically knowing each other since they were kids. Although they technically didn’t meet in the middle, yet thinking about it in a real-life situation seems quite weird, doesn’t it?
