First of all, I want to thank all the women out there for thinking my boyfriend is attractive. It’s extremely validating to know that there are other women who are eyeing my man–that there is something to eye in the first place! A giant shout out to y’all, I really appreciate it.
Women vs women
A lot is constantly said about how women cannot appreciate other women. It has become cliche to show two or more women fighting over the same man. Whether it is in movies, television or even our new-age web series–the fact that women cannot process other women in the vicinity of their partner is a common plotpoint. It’s almost become social conditioning. However, there’s nothing wrong with the women here–only as wrong as the man in the question. Here I’d like to mention that having others being attracted to you while being in a committed relationship is not something you can control, but what you do with that attraction is where the bigger questions come in.
The case of jealousy
A lot of women would perhaps feel jealous that there are other women giving attention to your boyfriend. Contrastingly, there is a peace in knowing that other women also find your partner sexy. The balance is a hard one to strike because the healthy bits of jealousy can very easily transform into a relationship problem if not taken right.
While the ego-boost makes for a spring in your step, it is crucial to make sure that there is full communication regarding these wandering waves of attention. Friendly banter, sarcastic replies and witty comebacks are all okay but when it becomes a reason to be insecure around your partner, it’s not a healthy look for you guys. Either it stems from you not feeling super confident about yourself when compared to these XYZ women or the fact that you don’t essentially trust your man but whichever it is, it’s not cute and has to be dealt with immediately!
Keep finding him attractive..
Since we are all in the bucket of validation, it’s alright to accept that these women make my boyfriend probably look more attractive than he is if you knew him. However, I love the fact that womankind appreciates the choice I have made, that I am taking one for the team and I hope ya’ll find super attractive partners as well. You go, girl!
