Sex, as we all know, is great. Provided it’s consensual and between two adults of course. But, it can also be physically taxing. Unless you’re a fan of only going at it in the vanilla missionary position, you’ll need a bit of body strength to have actually good sex.
But you don’t want to be doing just any workout. You want to be focusing on exercises that will make you the next Cassanova in bed. Fortunately, we have done the research and these 5 exercises have come up again and again.
1. Kegels
You knew this was coming. Kegels involve strengthening the muscles around your pelvic floor. Clench the muscles you would use when holding back pee. Yes, pretend like you really need to pee and clench as hard and as long as you can. Then unclench. And repeat.
It keeps the entire region strong and elastic. It’s not just for women btw. Men benefit from strengthening their pelvic floor muscles too since they support the uterus, bladder, small intestine, and rectum.
2. Yoga
It’s no surprise that the land of the Kama Sutra also came up with yoga. Yoga is great for everything–flexibility, circulation, and mental balance. Of course, when it comes to sex, yoga lets you gain the flexibility needed to hit different positions.
As we get older, don’t discount the importance of being able to bend to do things in life in general. Not just in bed.
3. Lower back exercises
Do exercises that target the lower back muscles. A lot of sex positions involve lying on your back (both for men and women). So you need to make sure those muscles can handle the strain.
A strong lower back helps in having powerful orgasms as you can get into positions where your partner can reach your clitoris. So get working on leg raises, hip hinges, and lower abdomen exercises. Yoga works too (but you knew that already).
4. Tricep exercises
You can’t hold yourself up while getting hot and heavy if you don’t have strong arms. So work on those triceps. Lift a few weights. Do strength training. You won’t always be lying on your back so get your arms to be strong.
5. Squats
Girl, if you ever find yourself on top (and you will), you will thank your stars that I suggested doing squats. Squats increase your leg, core, and lower back strength. If you’re a beginner, stick to the basic squat. When you feel you’re ready, you can try other forms like the jump squat and the sumo squat.
Now, go be a tigress in bed!
