Life will be sorted after marriage, said who? A new set of challenges await you. While you may think marriage is the solution to all your single-life problems and now your life will be a cakewalk, we are sorry to break it to you, but it’s not really like that. Yes, there’s going to be a lot of love-filled moments, but if someone told you life changes after marriage only in an arranged marriage, that person just told you a lie. Things do change after marriage, even if you’re married to the love of your life. Read on and you will relate to every bit of it.

1. You meet your friends less frequently

You end up dedicating more time to your partner and that’s absolutely okay. Your life now revolves around your husband, your new home, your new life and your new family. Yes, you do strike a balance between everything, but remember the promise you made to your girlfriends about how nothing ever will change after marriage?

You don’t really hangout with them that often. If you’re staying in the same city, you manage to meet them once a month, but those who stay far away manage to meet once a year, in some cases not even that. The best part? Your friends understand and don’t complain about it. In fact, they let you enjoy your new life with a promise to be there for you always. But despite all that, it does create a void and makes you start to miss your friends terribly.

2. You need to split your festivals and holidays

Your social and family time gets divided and demands equal time. It’s not just about your set of parents and holidays, and vacations are not only restricted to them. You need to devote equal time to your in-laws now. Initially, the idea of splitting the holidays might annoy you a little, but with time you get used to it. So yes, life changes.

3. Friday nights turn into grocery shopping

One thing that nobody will ever tell you about is how not every Friday is about late-night parties, but mostly grocery shopping. Not exaggerating even a little bit! Yes, reality hits hard when you find yourself bargaining with a grocery vendor instead of strutting down into that restaurant in heels. But such is life.

4. Sex isn’t as frequent as people assume

It’s kinda funny to see how conveniently people assume that marriage means more sex everyday. Well, sorry to break it to you, it doesn’t! The frequency just goes down. And  believe us, no couple can have sex everyday. More importantly, sex can wait! If not today, it can happen tomorrow or the day after. There’s absolutely no rush. Gone are the days when he was your boyfriend and you got to meet for a day or weekend. You know what we mean.

5. You miss your carefree single life

You contemplate your decision of getting married. Sorry, but you do. You keep thinking about whether you rushed into it or you did the right thing at the right time. Now this doesn’t have anything to do with you loving your husband any less. These thoughts pop up only because at times you miss your single life, the carefree one with fewer liabilities and responsibilities.
