Sania Mirza Gets Real About Post Pregnancy Weight, Shares How She Lost 26 Kgs

“The toughest thing for me after pregnancy has been trying to get my core to be as strong as it was before I had Izhaan…”–that’s the reality of postpartum weight gain and ace tennis player Sania Mirza has been quite vocal about it post-pregnancy. 

Sania has been sharing insights into her workout sessions for quite some time now on social media. Only recently, she’s started her own hashtag, #Mummahustles, on Instagram where she posts snippets from her inspiring weight loss journey. She lost 26 kilos in just four months, and we must say that’s quite a remarkable transformation and her pictures are proof. Take a look:

Sania’s message to all new mommies on the block, “If I can you can too!”

Sania did get questioned a lot about how she managed to look so fit in just a few months’ time post-pregnancy. Finally, she took to Instagram and shared her weight loss workouts in a post that read: “I put on 23 kilos when I was pregnant and have managed to lose 26 kilos in the span of 4 months or so with a lot of hard work, discipline and dedication. I read msgs from women all the time as to how they find it so difficult to come back to ‘normalcy’ after childbirth and don’t take care of themselves or don’t find the motivation or inspiration. Ladies, I just wanna say if I can do it then anyone else can too. believe me that one hour or 2 hours a day to yourself will do wonders to you physically but so much mentally as well.”

Sania explains how you should accept it’s a process and it won’t happen overnight

She also posted a follow-up video about her experience on Day 2, which wasn’t easy for her as well. In the post, she talked about how her body reacted after her first day of some rigorous workouts. She wrote: “It was one of the toughest days to get myself to go to the gym I remember, sore body, tiredness, sleepless nights with the new baby. After day 1 of such rigorous workout, my body wanted to give up and accept that it may never respond to exercise the same way as before…that maybe I won’t be able to come back to being close to as fit as I used to be. It was my mind that kept me going, my jumps could get higher, my technique could get better, my stamina could get better, but it doesn’t happen overnight! It is a process and once we accept that nothing can hold us back.”
