The monsoons are here and depending on which side you fall on, you either find them pretty romantic or you absolutely hate them. The rains can often put a damper on your excitement, making you cancel plans, or they could be the perfect excuse for you to snuggle up with some hot chocolate, Netflix, and bae. If you’re looking for some monsoon date night ideas, we made a list of things to do both at home and outside.
At home
Most Sundays involve a Netflix binge, but you would like to do something different. Here are three options you can try.
1. Cook a five course meal
Skip the rajma chawal, scour the Internet, or pull out those cookbooks to cook an exquisite five course meal for the two of you. Those complicated measurements, and the fact that you will be tasting and sampling all the ingredients together, is the perfect way to bond and have some fun.
2. Play board games
Let out your competitive side with breaking out a few board games. Show off your incredible vocab skills with Scrabble or your shrewd money skills with Monopoly. Nobody is a loser at the end of the day if you convert it into a drinking game.
3. Get involved with DIYs
If you don’t feel like entering the kitchen or don’t have any board games, try a bit of DIY. Upgrade your home with that photo gallery wall you always wanted, or work on creating a joint memory wall or vision board. All that hammering and collecting pictures for the project is going to make the hours just pass by.
Outside
If you do want to venture out but don’t want to go for another movie or dinner, try these other ideas.
1. Go bowling or go karting
Feel like a teen again by heading to an arcade to go bowling or try your hand at go karting. You could also opt for playing pool, leading to some friendly competition between the two of you.
2. Visit a brewery for a tasting
You might love your mimosas, but step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Head to your local microbrewery for a sampling of the latest ales and IPAs. If vineyards are a short drive away, consider a small overnight trip to sample some of the best wine India has to offer.
3. Try a new cuisine
India has a burgeoning food scene with plenty of new cuisines coming into focus. Pick a restaurant that has some yum, new cuisine–from Korean to North Eastern–and indulge your taste buds!
4. Sign up for a class
From pottery to photography, it could be fun to learn something new together. You can then apply your new skills on your next excursion!
