The thought of doing nothing scares you, right? In fact, even taking a break from your otherwise regular and monotonous life is daunting. Relax! It’s normal and you aren’t the only one on that boat. We all are at some point of our lives scared to be idle.

Ever thought why we feel this way? It’s because we are taught that we’re always supposed to be doing, going, and moving. So doing nothing doesn’t feel very good. We are being constantly fed info on how to be the number one in the race, irrespective of whether you want to be in that race or not. So much, that you are left with no option but to embrace things in life that may not be very good for you. It’s sad how we fail to realise that emptiness is so much better than filling your life with things that aren’t meant for you.

Here’s the thing: sometimes you need to do anything, only for your own good. At times, you should just let yourself be and let your mind and soul breathe. It does take time to realise how it’s better to do nothing than to do something that doesn’t fulfil or satisfy you. The worst happens when you’re into doing things that you yourself don’t approve of and are definitely not proud of. That feeling literally kills you from within. You feel you are rotting with time. Not a great feeling right? That feeling of not doing enough for things you’re passionate about is perhaps the worst.

It’s not just about doing a job you don’t like, it could be also that date you don’t want to go on. Or it could be a broken relationship that you don’t want to be in. You need to be choosy and thoughtful about what you bring into your life. You need to ease out your mind in order to opt for beautiful things in life. Good things in life take time and for that if you need to wait and do nothing for sometime, that NOTHING is worth it! When you opt for beautiful things in life it shows you’re valuing, loving, and taking care of yourself. That’s exactly what we all perhaps need to learn. Hopefully, by the end of it, you will realize that emptiness is better than filling your life up with things that aren’t good for you. At times, you need that absolute stillness in your life only to do NOTHING! Trust us, giving yourself that break, and doing absolutely nothing in that space is also an ART! Enjoy your company, it won’t do you any bad.
