Tamannaah Bhatia Just Revealed The Diet That Keeps Her Fit

Tamannaah Bhatia doesn’t come from a filmy background, but mind you, that hasn’t stopped her from achieving all that she dreamed of, in the entertainment industry. ‘Tammy,’ as they call her, began young. She was only 15 years old when she began working in films, and with her go-getter nature, she was bound to score big! More than a decade ago, she made her movie debut with Sri (a Telugu film) and then did Kedi (a Tamil film). And in 2007, when she essayed the role of a headstrong young lady in Sekhar Kammula’s breakthrough Tollywood film, Happy Days, that marked the stunning Tammy’s arrival down South. Over time, her fan following grew stronger and larger, directing her to the inevitable – Bollywood.

In 2005, Tamannaah starred in Shabah Shamsi’s Ye Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. Several stints with Hindi movies later, including Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala and Humshakals, came the film we can’t afford to miss – S.S Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the highest grossing Hindi film yet.

During the India Makeup Show in Mumbai, in an exclusive interview with iDiva, Tamannah shared some fun facts about her lifestyle, including her eating habits! If you’re wondering how she maintains that clear, glowing skin, while having to shuffle between hectic schedules, here’s how the 29-year-old does it.

When I asked her if it’s difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle and rewarding food habits, while pursuing a career as demanding and stressful as acting, her face lit up, as she spoke about her passion for food: “All I think about is food and what I’m going to eat next! Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m not blessed with a naturally petite frame, and I work hard for it. I can’t get away with eating as much as I want, and I have to maintain a strict diet.” At the beginning of her journey to a fitter lifestyle, things weren’t as easy, and she’d struggle to stick to it, however, with time, she’s acquired a taste for healthy foods, and has begun to enjoy it. When I quizzed her on the most important thing to keep in mind while choosing a diet to follow, she stressed on how it should be “sustainable.”

Here is what the actress eats in a day: “For breakfast, I like a decent sized smoothie bowl… I add some dry fruits, and some bananas or berries to it – that keeps me full for quite some time!” she said. For lunch, Tammy relishes ghar ka khaana, preferably lentils, a vegetable curry and rice. For dinner, the star likes to keep it as light as possible, munching on some dates and nuts, by 6pm at the latest. Phew! Sounds like some serious hard work but one look at Tamannaah and you know that it is worth it.
