It’s been almost two weeks that you met a cute guy on the dating app. You have been talking and things are great so far. You are a little quirky, and he’s very adventurous. Both of you hate mundane.

Now the plan is to finally meet, and what better than Valentine’s day to finally get to see each other. You, obviously decide to take charge and plan the date out only to realise that you’re quite literally out of options.

But hey, there is no need to fret! We have penned down five awesome date ideas that are not cliched or boring and incorporate things both of you love.

Thank us later!

1. Ditch the picnic in the park for a hot air balloon ride

You already know he hates cliche and nothing in this world is more cliched than a picnic brunch in the park. I mean, it’s great for people who are into picnics, but it can be extremely boring for someone who is an adrenaline junkie.

So here’s a middle ground. Take your picnic idea, a level higher. Actually, a lot higher on a hot air balloon! It’s romantic. It’s exciting. And most importantly, he’ll see the efforts you’d put to plan it.

2. Make your own quaint terrace theatre

Movie dates are a classic and something that is done to death. But there is always a way to make things slightly interesting and personalised. Instead of taking him to a movie hall, why don’t you set up your own movie theatre in your terrace. Get a white bed sheet, borrow a projector from a friend, play his favourite movie and snuggle together under a blanket, under the stars. If this doesn’t get you that second date, I don’t know what will.

3. Ditch the mundane dinner plan for a bite of Chickstar

Every date needs a great meal. But who says this meal has to be the same old burger or pasta. He loves new things and so do you. He loves to experiment with food, and you love the Taco Bell. So here’s some great news!

Taco Bell has introduced the all new Chickstar Wrap which is actually a wrap that looks like a star or hexagon. How cool?

We hear that this star-shaped wrap is tossed with crispy chicken, lettuce, salsa and signature Taco Bell sauces such as creamy habanero and nacho cheese. There is also a vegetarian version that is filled with paneer. What’s more? You get free, unlimited Pepsi to wash down this scrumptious wrap. Now that’s what I call a meal that’s definitely worth Valentine’s Day!

4. Go on a shopping spree at a charming flea market

Shopping in a mall is so passe, and not to mention expensive. Instead, you can take him to a local flea market, explore hidden gems and make memories. Besides, this will also give him a chance to see your bargaining skills. That is impressive, woman!

5. Forget long drives, explore the city together on the metro

We have all been on long drives, and honestly we’re done with it, thanks to the insane traffic everywhere. Your first date should be memorable. It should be about going to places (in the city) you’ve never been to and sharing that special moment with someone. So don’t let traffic ruin your mood (or his), instead hop on to the metro (or a local if you are from Mumbai) and explore the city together. There is a different kind of thrill to this; something very old-school, something very different and definitely something he is not going to forget for a long time.
