It’s been a week since 2017 started, and we’re sure you’re probably still feeling the holiday hangover. But it’s time to get back to reality, and that means shaking off the post holiday blues. So, this January, put yourself on a detox run from all the negativity in your life, the overdose of food and drinks you consumed over the holiday, and prepare yourself for a better year.

Get rid of the people you don’t need, or care about

If there’s anyone in your life who is causing you more unhappiness than joy, it’s time to bid them adieu. You can’t go another year dealing with the same crap, and acting like it’s alright. You have a whole new year to go through, and you probably have plans for yourself, so don’t let useless, negative people come in the middle of it. It may sound harsh, but it’s necessary. Plus, this principle goes for your social media platforms.

Detox from all the food and drinks you indulged in over the holiday season

Holiday season means over indulgence, when it comes to food and drinks. And why not? But now that the festivities are over, for the next couple of weeks, it might be a good idea to make plans that don’t revolve around drinking and eating. We know that’s easier said than done, especially with so many new places to hang out popping up all the time, but you’re going to be thankful for it in the long run. Even if you do end up going out and drinking, try limiting yourself to one or maybe two drinks, and don’t mix. When it comes to food, try eating a majority of your meals cooked at home, and again, if you do go out, pick something that’s not too heavy.

Take better care of your body and skin

Another thing that happens around the holidays is that we tend to get super lazy about the smallest of things. That means numerous nights of falling asleep with our make-up on, and completely skipping the skincare routine we previously followed religiously. We get so caught up with going out, and doing things that we somehow just give up on everything else. Plus, all the eating and drinking can reallydamage the skin. Get back into your skincare routine, take care of your body, exercise, moisturise, and drink loads of water. And don’t go to sleep with your make-up on.
